Hi friend, This month is a special one for me: the Remarkable Reinventors Community turns five. What began in September 2021 as a small circle of senior leaders navigating reinvention amidst disruption has grown into a community with members across Asia, Australia, Europe, and Latin America.

In that spirit, this edition is about making room for what matters in a complex world: a thought-provoking essay on how mindfulness can help us overcome our cognitive biases, an album from The TENG Company designed to promote wellness and lower stress, and a TED Radio Hour conversation for anyone rethinking how they earn a living from what they know.

Essay · Aeon

How to Offset Your Brain

Why do we cling to what we have, when letting go is the better bet? How can we make better high-stakes decisions about money, career, and relationships? Behavioural economist Stephanie Dorais shows that different approaches to mindfulness ease different biases, from loss aversion to mental accounting. The key is a pause between feeling and choosing. Read this essay.

Music · The TENG Company

Music for Mindfulness

If mindfulness begins with a pause, music can help create one. Developed in collaboration with the Singapore Institute of Technology, this research-backed album, Music for Mindfulness, blends The TENG Company’s East-West sound with binaural beats to enhance wellness and reduce anxiety.

Podcast · NPR TED Radio Hour

The Price of Creativity

You may roll your eyes at the phrase "content creator", but this TED Radio Hour episode is worth your time. Kickstarter cofounder Yancey Strickler unpacks how the creator economy is reshaping work, art and what we assign value to. If you were paid for the thing you love, would you still love it?

For a Wry Grin

Muting the Inner Committee

Before we can create anything new, we first have to turn down the volume on the voices telling us not to.
